Together, they are laying the groundwork for the energy internet of the future. It begins with EVs but will soon extend to a broader landscape of autonomous systems.

The Origin Story

DeCharge began with a simple but urgent realization.

In 2022, while purchasing his own EV, founder Mohan Ponnada noticed a critical gap. Electric vehicles were being heavily promoted, yet the supporting charging infrastructure was falling behind. The experience was fragmented and inconvenient, creating friction for adoption.

What followed was a series of deep conversations around how to scale charging infrastructure in a way that was sustainable, inclusive, and adaptable. DeCharge was created to solve this, with a decentralized model that rewards individuals for deploying EV chargers and contributing to a growing, resilient network.

The 2030 Vision

DeCharge is building more than a charging network. It is designing the foundation for a distributed energy infrastructure that will support the next generation of autonomous technologies.

By 2030, DeCharge aims to power not only electric vehicles, but also drones, robotics platforms, and mobile autonomous systems. The network will serve as a critical energy layer in the evolving machine economy, built on community participation and ownership.

Mohan Ponnada, Founder & CEO

Named CEO of the Year 2022 by Entrepreneur Middle East. Mohan is a serial entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in mobility, logistics, and hardware. He has led multiple startups to successful outcomes, including an urban transport platform that scaled to over 1 million rides in 18 months, and a smart IoT chair deployed to 200,000+ users. At DeCharge, he sets the strategic vision and leads cross-functional execution.

Dr. Prakash Kamaraj, Co-founder & Head of Blockchain

A specialist in blockchain and deep tech infrastructure, Prakash brings 7 years of experience in scaling Web3 systems. Formerly with Chingari as Lead of Web3 Business Technology, he built blockchain infrastructure supporting over 5 million users and led several successful fundraising efforts. At DeCharge, he is responsible for the blockchain layer powering the DePIN model.

Rama Krishna Kattekola, Co-founder & COO

With a background in hardware deployment and IoT operations, Rama has led infrastructure scale-up across several early-stage ventures. He brings hands-on expertise in managing field operations, logistics, and installation processes. As COO, he oversees network rollout, device logistics, and end-to-end operational execution.
